Seedance 2.5

Seedance 2.5

Seedance 2.5 is ByteDance's next video model. It generates a single clip up to 30 seconds in one pass, with scene cuts and tempo changes built into the shot instead of stitched together afterward. It is the step up from Seedance 2.0 for anyone who found the older 5 to 15 second clips too short to carry a complete idea.

What is Seedance 2.5

A longer, more controllable video model

Seedance 2.5 is the version of ByteDance's Seedance line that targets the three things creators kept running into with Seedance 2.0: clips were too short, characters drifted between generations, and any small fix meant rendering the whole shot again. It was built to fix all three.

30 Seconds in One Pass

It generates a native 30-second clip without post-stitching. That is enough to hold a full social unit, a product story, or a short scene without cutting between separate renders.

Up to 50 Reference Inputs

It takes up to 50 reference materials in a single generation, mixing images, video, and audio. That is roughly four times the input budget of the previous model, which helps keep characters and look consistent.

Edit Without Re-Rendering

It adds a local re-draw mode. You can swap a product, change a background, or fix one element in a region of the clip while the rest of the frame stays exactly as it was.

Specifications

Seedance 2.5 at a glance

The numbers reported during the enterprise beta. Some details will be confirmed when the model reaches public launch.

Clip Length

Up to 30 seconds in a single generation, with scene changes and tempo shifts handled inside the clip rather than by joining separate renders.

Resolution

ByteDance ships native 4K with 10-bit color on the Seedance 2.0 model. Reports put 4K on Seedance 2.5 as well, to be confirmed at launch.

Reference Inputs

Up to 50 multimodal references per job, combining images, video, and audio. Useful for scenes that need several characters to stay on-model across shots.

Editing

Local re-draw lets you change one region of a clip without regenerating the whole thing. The surrounding style and motion are kept intact.

Audio & 3D

Native audio carries over from the unified audio-video model. Seedance 2.5 also reportedly adds a 3D blockout mode for staging camera and composition before the render.

Availability

Seedance 2.5 is in global enterprise beta as of June 2026, with a public launch targeted for early July 2026. Pricing for 2.5 has not been announced.

Seedance 2.5 vs Seedance 2.0

What changed since Seedance 2.0

Seedance 2.0 set the baseline and currently ranks first on the Artificial Analysis video leaderboard, ahead of Google Veo 3.1 and Kling 3.0. Seedance 2.5 builds on that foundation in three places.

Longer clips

Seedance 2.0 clips ran short, usually a single beat. Seedance 2.5 holds a 30-second arc in one render, so a hook, a turn, and a payoff can live in the same clip.

More references

The earlier model accepted around a dozen references. Seedance 2.5 raises that to 50, which makes multi-character scenes and brand-consistent campaigns far easier to keep coherent.

Local editing

With Seedance 2.0 a small fix meant a full re-render and a new roll of the dice. It lets you redraw one region and keep everything else, which saves both time and credits.

Use Cases

Where Seedance 2.5 fits

The longer clips, larger reference budget, and local editing point Seedance 2.5 at work that earlier models could only fake by cutting clips together.

Brand films and ads

A 30-second spot can be one render instead of a dozen stitched fragments. Feed in product shots and brand references so the look holds from the first frame to the last.

Episodic short drama

The 50-input reference system was built with multi-character scenes in mind. It keeps the same faces and wardrobe across shots, which is the hard part of serialized content.

Iterating on a near-final cut

When a clip is almost right but one prop or background is wrong, you can redraw just that region. You keep the take you liked and fix only the part that broke it.

Planned camera and composition

The reported 3D blockout mode lets you stage camera angles and framing before rendering. For teams that storyboard, that turns the model into a tool you direct rather than gamble with.

Frequently Asked Questions

Seedance 2.5 FAQ

Common questions about Seedance 2.5.

1

What is Seedance 2.5?

Seedance 2.5 is ByteDance's next AI video model, following Seedance 2.0. Its headline change is a native 30-second clip generated in a single pass, with scene cuts and tempo changes handled inside the shot rather than stitched together after the fact.

2

How long can a Seedance 2.5 clip be?

Up to 30 seconds in one generation. That breaks past the short 5 to 15 second clips most video models produce and is long enough to carry a complete social post or a short scene on its own.

3

How many reference inputs does Seedance 2.5 support?

Seedance 2.5 accepts up to 50 reference materials in a single job, combining images, video, and audio. That is roughly four times the previous model's limit and is aimed at scenes with several characters that need to stay consistent.

4

Can I edit a Seedance 2.5 video after generating it?

Yes. Seedance 2.5 adds a local re-draw mode. You can change one region of a clip, such as a product or a background, without regenerating the whole frame, and the surrounding style and motion stay intact.

5

Does Seedance 2.5 do 4K and audio?

Native audio carries over from the unified audio-video model. ByteDance ships native 4K with 10-bit color on Seedance 2.0, and reports place 4K on Seedance 2.5 as well. The exact output options will be confirmed at public launch.

6

How is Seedance 2.5 different from Seedance 2.0?

Seedance 2.0 set the quality baseline and currently leads the Artificial Analysis video leaderboard. Seedance 2.5 extends it in three ways: much longer clips, a larger reference budget, and local editing that avoids full re-renders.

7

When is Seedance 2.5 available, and what does it cost?

Seedance 2.5 is in global enterprise beta as of June 2026, with a public launch targeted for early July 2026. Pricing for 2.5 has not been announced yet.
